Start Your Morning Right
Your morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. Notice that when you wake up âon the wrong side of the bed,â it seems like your whole day goes wrong. This is because what you do in the morning creates a domino effect that carries on throughout the day. Thatâs how important it is to start your morning right.
For example, if you wake up feeling sad or dread the day ahead, these very feelings and thoughts make you think negative things, which draws negative things to you. If something good happens but youâre feeling negative, your negative feelings and thoughts overshadow the good. You cannot afford to do that to yourself! You may not feel it right away, but all this will eventually make you physically sick. All these negative thoughts and feelings put unnecessary stress on your body. If you want to live a vibrant and energetic life, you cannot afford to put unnecessary stress on yourself.
Even if you are reading this midday or at night, you can start right now to set your morning right. Think positive, beautiful thoughts before going to bed. I personally donât like watching the news at night and so I donât, and Iâve noticed a difference. When I used to watch the news at night, watching all the bad things occurring in the world depressed me, and I didnât realize it until I noticed that I would wake up most of the time feeling negative about the world. This might not be true for you, but I believe that what you speak, see, or hear right before bed has an effect on how you feel in the morning. If you watch TV before bed, I recommend watching something funny, relaxing, or inspiring. Watch things that are positive for your mind and your soul.
Donât go to bed angry or sad. These emotions tend to carry throughout the morning. This is when it is important to communicate your emotions so that you donât hold them in but communicate in a way that will lead to further understanding and to getting the results you want. If it is a situation that made you angry, think about the lessons from that experience. There is always something to learn every single day, and from every situation and person. Try to see what the lessons are and vow to yourself to be a better person as a result of what happened.
If something bad happened that makes you feel badâsuch as grieving a loved one or the end of a relationshipâgive yourself time to grieve by setting some sad time aside for yourself. Someone told me this once, and although it may sound kind of ridiculous, it does work. Set aside time to cry over whatever it is that makes you cry, but once that time is over, thatâs it. You dry your tears and move on.
It is necessary to feel grief. Pushing that aside and acting like what happened didnât affect you leads to more hurt in the long run.
